Phuong Mai I Wind Power

vietnam wind power plantBinh Dinh is the central coastal province of Vietnam, terrain stretches north - south, with more than 100 km of coastline, located in the tropical monsoon climate coupled with the complexity of the terrain, so when the wind the mainland has changed direction and intensity of the wind is strong, especially in coastal areas. This condition is appropriate to Binh Dinh towards using wind energy to increase power, limited dependence on traditional energy is depleted and adversely affect the environment.

The advantages of wind power as: a low cost, competitive with electricity from fossil fuels, saving resources, wind power less damage to the environment (wind 1GWh only produces about 10 tonnes of CO2, while 1GWh 830-920 tonnes of thermal coal), time to build wind power projects is much shorter than the traditional power, wind power technology has developed to the fullest.

With the advantages and importance of wind power resources plus abundant wind energy locally, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce recently issued Decision No. 5358 / QD-BCT adjustment, additional wind power projects Phuong Mai I in "power development planning Binh Dinh province in the 2006-2010 period, with a 2015".

Accordingly, additional wind power projects Phuong Mai I, the capacity 30MW, including 12 wind turbines in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, the project was divided into two phases:

  • Phase 1: Installation of 6 wind turbines 2,5MW - a total capacity of 15 MW, is expected to operate in 2012.
  • Phase 2: Installation of 6 wind turbines 2,5MW - a total capacity of 15MW, is expected to operate in 2015.

Alternative connection of wind power plants Mai Phuong I will be adjusted, connected to the voltage from 110 kV to 220 kV. Specifically, the construction of new 220kV line to connect the wind farm Phuong Mai I on the national electricity system.

The project has a capacity of 30MW. This is a small but wind power projects meant to pave the way for the power industry using renewable energy (wind and solar) contribute to promoting economic and social development, energy security.
